Profile
Roy V. Leonard founded R.V.
Leonard Company, Inc. in the early 1960s. The company
provided office supplies, shelving, lockers, interior
furnishings and material handling equipment to
businesses throughout eastern Massachusetts, Rhode
Island and southern New Hampshire. The business
prospered and grew until the late 1970s when the
prevailing adverse economic conditions severely reduced
the demand for new office and institutional furnishings.
Some years thereafter,
Maryanne Leonard, wishing to pursue new challenges and
opportunities away from her previously successful
careers as a high school math teacher, a computer
hardware salesperson, and finally a partner in a
computer software sales company, took over the reins of
the company that her father had started twenty-five
years prior. With a solid background in education and
sales, Maryanne was drawn instinctively towards the
higher educational marketplace. Since Maryanne’s initial
involvement with the company, R.V. Leonard Co., Inc. has
experienced continued growth and prosperity. The company
now has seven full-time employees and is an extremely
well known and respected vendor of higher educational
furnishings in Massachusetts.
The
company is a vendor for the Commonwealth of
Massachusetts to supply general office furnishings.
